The Finnish Transport Agency started operating on January 1st 2010.
The new agency combines the Rail Administration and parts of the Maritime Administration and Road Administration. The Road Regions are now parts of the new Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.
Finncontact, the Finnish Road Administration's newsletter, is aimed at Russian readership. It has been published in Russian since 2004. This newsletter focuses on cooperation between the Finnish and Russian road administrations. It provides information about road sector projects in the neighbouring areas. The aim is to share the information and promote cooperation between different authorities.
